  • How do I apply to jobs?
    Start by clicking the apply button at the bottom of the job description page.

  • If you have already posted your resume on HotJobs.com, simply enter your user ID (which is always your e-mail address) and password to apply to the job.
  • If you have not already created an online resume with HotJobs.com, you will be prompted to do so. You will be asked to enter your first name, last name, e-mail address and password. Next, you will have the option to cut/paste your resume on to HotJobs.com or create your online resume using the resume builder. Once you are finished posting your resume online, your resume will be forwarded to the intended company at the end of the registration process.

    What happens after I apply to a job?
    After you have applied to a job, you will get an on-screen and an e-mail confirmation. Your resume and cover letter (if you choose to include one) are instantly sent to a recruiter at the hiring company or staffing firm. Companies will contact you directly if they think you are a suitable match for their openings. Good luck!

    How can I tell which jobs I applied to?

  • Login to myHotJobs.
  • Click "View jobs applied to".
  • You'll see a list of jobs you applied to, the date you applied and the cover letter you sent.

    Why do I get an error message when I try to apply to a job?
    Error messages occur when applying to a job for several reasons:

  • The job has been filled and therefore the company is no longer accepting resumes.
  • You have already applied to this job.
  • Our system is temporarily experiencing technical difficulty.
  • Your user name or password was incorrectly entered.
  • First, make sure that you have typed in your correct user name and password. Remember to include your complete email address (everything to the left and right of the "@" symbol), and remember that our login fields are case sensitive. CHRIS@hotjobs.com won't allow you to access chris@hotjobs.com.

    Can I re-apply to a job?
    In order to minimize duplicate applications, we allow applicants to apply only once to each job. If you have edited your resume or contact information and have previously applied to a member company's job, our system will automatically update your information with the hiring company or staffing firm. Once you submit a cover letter, however, it cannot be updated.

    How do I follow up on a job I applied for?
    The hiring company has complete control over how it chooses to contact applicants. While we strongly encourage companies to confirm receipt of applicant resumes, not all companies choose to do so. Just as we ensure the privacy of job seekers who use our site, we protect the contact information of companies that use our site to fill open positions.
